When Pat Clarke passed away in 2006, Meteors wanted to keep her memory alive. The Division 1 team at the time was made up of nearly all the same girls that Pat has coached way back in St Mary's Youth club in 1987 so the Club decided it would be a fitting tribute to host an annual pre-season tournament, for Senior teams across the country.
The Pat Clarke tournament has fast become a highlight of the basketball calendar and it sees teams travelling from all four corners of the country to complete.
This year the tournament took take place from September 22nd - 24th.
The tournament was the highest standard to date. Well done to Meteors 1, University of Limerick, Ulster Elks and Meteors 1 on reaching the semi final. The final was closely contested with Meteors crowned champions for the first time since 2011.
Congratulations to our own Mackenzie Rule who was awarded MVP, scoring 24 points in the final.
